A Few Stats
Over 19,600 people in Manitoba live with dementia. This number is expected to double in the next generation. Sixty-two percent of Manitobans have a family member or close friend living with the disease. 

Connecting Families to a Community of Support
The Alzheimer Society is a place for care partners to turn nobody should have to go through dementia alone. Their First Link® Client Support Program connects individuals living with dementia and their care partners with a community of support, to help plan for what’s ahead and face each day as it comes. They offer one-to-one counselling, support groups, education sessions and dementia-friendly programs and more. The Society also works with organizations and professionals engaged with health issues, seniors’ rights and dementia research, always advocating for more accessible care options and dementia-friendly systems.
